Mae Godwin | The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Alternative Poster
Mae is a casual graphic designer + photographer
This is a poster for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, directed by Wes Anderson. I chose this film because I love Jacque Cousteau & Wes Anderson. I wanted to depict the main plot with some quirky humor and chose a darker teal for the water to show depth and have a color that contrasted well with the yellow submarine and typography.
I like the original poster, but my poster shows the real star of the show. I made these for a movie poster competition and definitely struggled with how to even approach a non cast centered poster. I'd love to improve these some day as I made these quite a while ago and they feel a bit boring/flat to me now. However, I did win 2nd place for The Life Aquatic and sold the other!
