Claire Cho | Romeo + Juliet Alternative Poster
Claire's work has been selected by the studio as an example of excellent design for many reasons. Above all, this work is visually striking, and the style is unique and captivating. The work captures the quiet, infamous end of the story–and paired with the soft and dreamy visuals, the composition feels happy, beautiful, and heartbreaking all at once. Though this could feel conceptually literal, as it is drawn from a scene in the film, the perspective and distinct visual style makes it a great, memorable poster.
Hi! My name is Claire Cho and I am an illustrator, designer, and painter from SoCal who is motivated by the LA and OC communities that have raised me and continue to motivate my work today. I’m a rookie fashion, car, and live music enthusiast with a curiosity that pushes me to discover new things and connect with new faces. As I continue my journey, I look forward to growing in the world of design with you!
Romeo and Juliet (1996) is one of my favorite movies of all time, I love everything about it! The costumes, the setting, it takes place in SoCal and everything has a character. I chose a warm color palette to reflect the ending where they’re covered by candles in the church. I wanted to go with a more graphic approach and focus on the shapes and interaction between Romeo and Juliet.

Claire's favorite films are: Romeo and Juliet (1996), Pan’s Labyrinth, Kill Bill, and Ratatouille
